Say there. Did you procrastinate your Father's Day shopping? In part, probably because you're broke. Well, we have some great last minute ideas for you that are fun and won't break the bank.
1. Take dad to a movie matinee, which can be half off. Or check out the Elvis Cinemas, which offer second run movies for a couple of bucks. Buy Snowcaps and Raisinettes at Walgreens for $1 each and pack them into the theater.
2. Miniature golf is always a good bet. Here's a list of local mini golf courses. There's also Harvard Gulch Park, a three par course, which is $8 and takes an hour to play. 660 East Iliff Ave., (303) 698-4078. Here's a list of other Denver golf courses courses and fees.
3. Wash Dad's car and give him a bucket filled with car stuff. Fuzzy dice optional. Car deodorant a must.
4. Make Dad dinner. Sit him on the couch and hand him the remote. Bring him a cold beer or soda. Leave him alone. Present him a pizza, burger or other forbidden delight on a TV tray. Brace yourself for his tears of gratitude. Make a sundae to share for desert.
5. Get him a subscription to Wired Magazine, Rolling Stone or Sport's Illustrated.
6. $8 Rockies tix -- if he can handle sitting in the heat and sun of the Rockpile.
7. Grill accessories or even better, a grill tank gauge like this so he never runs out of gas again.
