B-17 Exhibit FREE @ Centennial Airport June 11

Are you or someone you know (like Dad or Grandpa) an aviation or World War II buff?  Then hustle down to Centennial Airport on Saturday June 11 where you can get up close and personal with a vintage B-17 Flying Fortress, the stuff of legends and numerous Hollywood films (think "Memphis Belle"). FREE as part of Centennial Airport's June 11 open house to showcase private aviation. The open house is from 9AM until 3PM at Signature Aviation, which is located on the south side of the airport and signs will mark the route to the location. There will be lots of hands on exhibits and activities, but the star of the show is  the B-17. This plane is one of only 14 Fortress's still flying, and is an icon of the Allied strategic bombing effort that helped turn the tide of battle in World War II.

A great, FREE opportunity to see living history.Visitors can walk around the massive bomber and take pictures. If you have money to burn (those people don't read this blog, but still...) you can purchase a $450 (prices vary see museum website) ride on B-17, sponsored by Wings Over the Rockies aviation museum through June 13.

Can't afford the cost of a flight? Me either. But you can still visit the big girl and watch her take offs and landings from the airport (be sure to stop by the Perfect Landing restaurant). And you can watch this video instead.
