Night Owls Respite Program Needs Volunteers
Volunteers are always needed for the Fisher Night Owls Respite Program, which helps families and caregivers of special needs children. One Friday night a month, the Night Owls takes over the Fisher Early Learning Center (1899 E. Evans Ave.) to give special needs kids and their siblings a night in, while parents and caregivers a night out. The program accommodates kids from 1 month to 12 years old who have cognitive, communication, emotional, behavioral and physical challenges. No experience necessary, but volunteers must attend a 1-1/2 hour training session. For more information, visit www.du.edu/fisher/nightowls.html, email Michael Brewer at nightowls@du.edu or call 303-871-2095.
