Denver's Biggest Bike Swap and Show Oct; 20

Billed as a Goliath celebration of all things bicycle,  the 24th annual Subaru Denver VeloSwap will be held from 9AM-4PM on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the National Western Complex. This is the big daddy of bicycle shows, where you can buy, sell, swap and recycle bikes and equipment, as well as check out the latest in technology and products. Don't miss a try on the adult-sized big wheels! Also on tap are  cycling and sports clinics, family events, cycling celebrities, product sampling and much, much more.

Admission $6 in advance at REI, Performance Bicycle or online  (until 5PM today Oct. 19), but word is that those tickets are about gone. No worries. Admission is $8 at the door. Under age 12 FREE. Parking is $10, which is a bit steep. At that price you might want to cycle in, and the good news is that Bike Denver is providing FREE racks to lock your bike. Also on tap:
  • Subaru Raffles and Booth Happenings:  Subaru will be offering tons of give-a-ways throughout the day including a Trek Madone road  bike, special gifts for Subaru owners (show them your Subie keys) and freebies for everyone else.  Stop by the Subaru booth for more information and to see the all new 2013 XV Crosstrek (most fuel efficient crossover in America)!
  • Inner Tube Drive: Green Guru will take any size old inner tubes and turn them into their awesome carryall products. Drop off your tubes at the designated tire drop in the Recycle Zone at the front of the show. For every tube donated you can enter the raffle for cool recycled items.
  • Basil Docs Pizza Deal:  Bring your 2012 VeloSwap ticket stub (or purchase receipt) to any Denver Metro Basil Doc’s Pizza location (www.basildocspizza.com) and get $10.00 (TEN dollars) off your purchase of any LARGE (18″) SPECIALTY pizza (menu at the website). Deal expires Oct. 31 and one ticket stub discount per order, please.
The show is at the Expo Hall, National Western Complex, 4655 Humboldt St., Denver.
