9Cares Colorado Shares Needs Volunteers

Looking for a volunteer gig in Denver? 9Cares Colorado Shares runs from 7AM-4PM Oct. 27 and they need volunteers to assist in what is the largest one-day food collection in the state.  It supports over 125 food banks in the Denver Metro area and Northern Colorado and engages over 500 community volunteers. This would be a great way to give back to the community.
Volunteers can unload cars, pack boxes and help load trucks. The public is encouraged to donate non-perishable food. Cash collected is used to purchase items throughout the year for the food banks. Food will be collected at five main locations throughout the Denver Metro area:
Locations are as follows:
  • 9NEWS Studios at Speer and Logan.
  • The IInverness Hotel & Golf Club east of I-25 and Dry Creek
  • Southwest Plaza at Wadsworth and Bowles
  • American Furniture Warehouse at I-25 and 84th
  • Havana Gardens at Havana and Idaho
Volunteers also will be needed at the Food Bank of the Rockies Warehouse, 10700 E. 45th Ave. Denver, From 1PM-4PM at the warehouse, volunteers can help inspect, clean, sort and box items before they are distributed to clients via our member agencies.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact 9News at 303-871-1439 or email lynne.valencia@9news.com
