Happy Earth Day Freebies Around Denver

Happy Earth Day Denver earthlings! To celebrate, The Botanic Gardens in Denver and at Chatfield both are FREE today, April 22. See their website here.

Denver's Habitat for Humanity store, 70 Rio Grande Blvd (near Santa Fe & Alameda), is offering 25 percent off today, April 22.

Throughout the metro region Whole Foods is planning a bunch of offers and parties today to celebrate Earth Day. Whole Foods Cherry Creek will rock all day, offering FREE compost between 11AM-4PM, along with an in-store festival featuring FREE samples and coupons. Plus Whole Foods Cherry Creek is partnering with Metech to recycle your old TVs, computers, keyboards and electronics and e-cycle them for. 2375 E. 1st Ave. Park in the parking garage and get validation to avoid the headache of the WF's parking lot.

Over at the Wash Park Whole Foods today, they're giving away FREE shopping bags and local vendors of artisan products -- check out FREE delicious samples from companies like Soy Zen Zay -- from 11AM-4PM. 1111S. Washington St.

On Saturday April 23 Lowes is giving away a million FREE trees. Not much detailed info at their website here. Use the store locater and once you find a nearby store, call for details. Otherwise get their at 6AM because we understand it is first come, first serve.

In honor of Earth Day The Mayan Theatre at 110 Broadway will show a FREE screening of the documentary "Food, Inc." at 7PM and 9PM on April 22. "Food, Inc." examines how growing food in America has turned into cranking out a product through assembly lines and industrial feedlots. The free screenings are sponsored by Whole Foods Market.
