Feb. 14 Grilled Cheese Tuesday at Sunflower

Here's something to warm your heart and your stomach on Valentine's Day. Tuesday Feb. 14 is Grilled Cheese Tuesday at Sunflower Market, 2880 S. Colorado Blvd, which means you score a a grilled cheese/cuppa soup combo for $3. That's a pretty good deal in my book. It always pays to check Sunflower's event listings, because their classes and deals are second to none.

Boone's Tavern Opens in DU Neighborhood

So, last night we went to the new Boone's Tavern (aka Smugs, aka Fagan's) to throw back a few and we are here to report that it offers outstanding wings and burgers. The nachos need a little work. We look forward to working our way through the menu, which also offers well-priced daily specials. The staff couldn't be nicer and the old place looks great and cozy. The manager told us that Boone's will be looking to appeal to neighbors, as well as students, a combo we applaud. Interestingly, Boone's plans to offer as much Colorado-sourced food as possible. We like that. All Boone's beers come from Colorado and most of the liquor does too. We appreciate the localism, but we'd also like some Guinness and Harp on tap. Please. Pretty Please?
