Tax Time Help

Need help with your taxes?

Free tax help for low-income and elderly taxpayers is available at the Washington Park Community Center, 809 S. Washington St., Thursdays, 9AM-1PM, through April 14. Call 303-733-4643 to make an appointment or for more information.
        A little farther afield, tax assistance can be had at the DABC Economic Prosperity Center Free Tax SuperSite, Economic Prosperity Center at King Trimble, 2980 Curtis St., through April 16, at the following times: Sat., 9AM-3PM, Mondays and Tuesdays and on Wednesdasys form 5:30-8PM No appointments or phone calls; just show up.         One of the best community tax organizations  is AARP Tax-Aide, America’s largest FREE, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. AARP Tax-Aide is dedicated to assisting Senior Citizens, low and middle income taxpayers file their personal income tax returns for FREE. The free tax assistance program is offered at more than 7,000  locations nationwide so just click on their site and  input your zip code and you’ll find about nearby locations, hours of operation and if you need a reservation or can simply walk-in. Tax-Aide volunteers are trained to help with filing the 1040 Form and many of the basic schedules such as Schedules A and B. Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered at most sites.
