The Brown Palace Hotel today, Jan. 21, to say howdy to the National Western Stock Show’s 2011 Grand Champion steer. The Big Winner, adorned with a garland of roses, will be escorted down a red carpet at 11AM. to take center stage during afternoon tea (in keeping with tradition the steer takes his tea from a sterling silver punch bowl) in the famed hotel’s lobby.
This is the last hurrah for the steer, before heading to the auction of champions (locally televised tonight on Channel 9). The public is welcome to join in for
FREE photos with the champ from 11AM to 1PM. Rodeo Queens, adorned in their sparkles and crowns, also will be on site for pictures and autographs. 312 17th Street, Denver, 303-297-3111.
