Coyote Pups on the Move
Have you noticed an uptick in Denver urban coyotes? No surprise. Young coyotes and pups are out learning to hunt in late summer and early fall. this means that unattended small dogs and cats left outdoors can become easy targets for these less experienced hunters. Remember: Don’t let pets off leash, especially in the early morning and evening hours. Actively and aggressively chase away any coyotes you see. Keep pet food inside. If you see coyotes in your neighborhood, alert your friends and neighbors. Report any encounters to 311, your city councilperson’s office or the Natural Resources department at 303-455-0785.
