Not everyone in Denver is lucky enough to have a full fridge during the holiday season. If you know someone who needs a little help filling their cupboards, we suggest you steer them toward Hunger Free Colorado. This multilingual, statewide resource assists people in locating both public and private food assistance programs. Call toll-free at (855) 855-4626 to be connected with food resources in your area. All calls are kept confidential. They can also help out with information on how to enroll in free or reduced cost school meal programs, Meals on Wheels, SNAP (aka food stamps) and more.
Another great resource for those in need of help is the Shrine of St. Anne website, which features links and info about various food banks and soup kitchens along with links to community assistance providers such as family services, medical/treatment, housing, clothing assistance resources for women, children, families, seniors and more throughout the Denver and Colorado Front Range. They also have a lot of employment resources and lists of job fairs. Can't beat it!
