Denver Cops Say No Cycling and Drinking Allowed

Denver cyclists take note -- you will now be subject to a new Denver Police Department enforcement policy that says drunk bikers, like drunk drivers, can be charged with DUI. In theory, the new enforcement policy could lead to jail time or a substantial fine. 

We love Denver Cruisers and other cycling groups that patronize the South Broadway restaurant and bar scene during summer months, and we hope that this doesn't put a damper on their activities. At the same time, we've seen some pretty wasted cyclists blast through neighborhood traffic signals on Franklin Street, nearly causing accidents.
