FYI to all University of Denver (DU) area residents. Safeway at Downing and Evans is attempting to obtain re-zoning to put in a gas station behind Morgan's Liquors. Why is this a bad idea? The traffic congestion in the Morgans/Safeway parking lot is already over the top, as is traffic at the increasingly busy Downing and Evans intersection. A gas station will only bring in more traffic.
The city has postpone a slated Oct. 17 meeting on the matter (thanks K!), so we will try to let you know when a new hearing date is chosen.
