Denver Trees and Streets Take a HIt in Windstorm

Did your trees take a hit in the high winds that swept across Denver last night? The DU neighborhood is littered with branches and giant limbs this morning, and Wash Park looks like a debris field after an explosion. Street lights are out and parts of Logan Street are closed due to debris. Be careful as you traverse the neighborhood today. Not only is there a ton of debris on local streets, there are huge, deadly limbs hanging by a thread in the tree canopy. They may not be clearly apparent as you walk beneath and they could fall at any time. Keep in mind that you might have trouble reaching a tree  trimmer today, and high winds are expected to continue throughout the morning. If you are a property owner we urge you to try to block off sidewalks or street areas that pose a danger. Later, you can go to the Arbor Day Foundation's Storm Recovery site to learn what you can do to help your damaged trees.
