Juvenile Bald Eagles in University Neighborhood!

We woke up early this morning to the sound of crows hysterically screaming at the top of their lungs. It turns out we had a gigantic juvenile bald eagle sitting in one of our trees. Despite the crows relentless determination to shag him (or her) off, the young eagle remained unfazed and unflinching, even yawning in the face of his attackers. An even stranger spectacle unfolded as neighbors ran outside in bathrobes and boots to observe the spectacle. Eventually the great bird bored of the game and flew off. While this neighborhood is home to several varieties of hawks and owls, we have never witnessed an eagle. What a great place South Denver is to live.
