Denver Theater Groups' Irreverent Holiday Shows Dec. 15-24

 At the point where you need a dose of sarcastic holiday humor? Denver's vibrant small theater scene is offering several fun alternatives to traditional Christmas fare. Prices are pretty reasonable too. 

Denver's Bovine Metropolis Improv Theater is launching a new show titled “Real Housewives of the North Pole.” Original and parody songs, original sketches combine with a story line that follows three elves who suffer from affluenza. Shows at 8PM on the following dates December 15, 16, 17, 21, 22 & 23. Tickets: $16 (special $12 performances on 12/15). 1527 Champa St., Denver.

The Bug Theatre is rolling out "Merry F*ing Christmas: Holiday Special Musical Variety Extravaganza," an original comedy Shows at 8PM through Dec. 17. This irreverent holiday special is presented in the style of a late-night TV talk show, and features interviews with classic holiday characters such as Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Ebeneezer Scrooge. The Edge Theater  presents "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues" through Dec. 18. Santa has been a very bad boy and the reindeer are talking! It's a heated environment at theNorth Pole and the reindeer are disclosing secrets after years of pent up anger. Scandal erupts when Vixen, Dancer, Blitzen, Dasher, Donner, Hollywood, Comet, and Cupid tell you what's really going on North Pole. Show starts at 8PM through Dec. 17. Avenue Theater features an evening of uproarious laughter at the expense of Santa, A Christmas Carol, the three wise men, treasured holiday carols, the NRA, Country Buffet, and other holiday standards. Saturday Dec. 24 at 4PM only. General Admission $25.00 Senior/Student $22.00
