FREE Dec. Tours of Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge.

Now, I know that hanging out on the grounds of a former weapons plant may not sound like fun, but I'm here to tell you that the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is an amazing place, teeming with more than 300 species of wildlife such as bald eagles, bison and coyotes. Throughout December the Refuge offers FREE two-hour Wild Ride tours on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. These family-friendly tours are on a toasty warm vehicle, so you don't have to worry about hoofing it through all 15,000 acres of short-grass prairie, located just adjacent to Denver in Commerce City. Don't forget to bring your cameras and binoculars! RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. 303-289-0930. More info here.
