If you are tight on money you won't want to miss the
2011 9Health Fair in
Commerce City Saturday Nov. 5 and Sunday Nov. 6. Yes, you have to stand
in line, but the well-organized fair keeps those lines moving pretty
quickly. You don't have to provide any personal info, other than contact
information so you can get results from the many FREE and low-cost screenings for adults and
children.Flu shots also are available for the whole family. The event is open to everyone regarding of where you live, immigration and insurance status.
Even if you have some form of insurance, you can't beat the price of the 9Health
screenings for blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc., or their pap
smears, breast exams, prostate checks, oral, hearing, foot and skin
checks. Low-cost health tests include a Blood Chemistry Screening
($30), PSA Screening for men ($25), Blood Cell Count Screening ($15),
and the take-home Colon Cancer Screening kit ($20). Each site also
offers a medical professional with whom you can discuss health-related
questions. In 2011, a number of sites will offer the Vitamin D ($40)
and Hemoglobin A1C ($25) screening. Hemoglobin AIC screenings are a
standard tool that determines blood sugar. The Exempla St. Joe's Mammogram van also will be at the fair Nov. 6 and more info on that here..
