June 11 See the Stars @ Observatory Park
Almost every month, starting at dusk, on the Saturday nearest the first quarter moon, the Denver Astronomical Society hosts an open house at the University of Denver's historic Chamberlin Observatory. That is June 11 this month, from 8-10PM. Guests can view the heavens through the observatory's famous 20-inch aperture Alvan Clark-Saegmuller refractor by registering on the main floor of the observatory and paying a $1 per-person fee. That's very cool but the real fun is outside the observatory, where DAS members set up their telescopes on the observatory grounds and offer FREE views of the universe.  And, if you're thinking of acquiring a telescope, the DAS members will answer  your questions and get you headed in the right direction. The Observatory is at 2930 East Warren Ave. Check out DAS' website here.
