9Health Fair Underway Across Colorado
Every year we plug the 9Health Fair, April 2 to 17 at 150 sites across Colorado. There is no excuse to miss this! Even if you have insurance, you can't beat the price of their screenings for blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc., or their pap smears, breast exams, prostate checks, oral, hearing, foot and skin checks. Low-cost health tests include a Blood Chemistry Screening ($30), PSA Screening for men ($25), Blood Cell Count Screening ($15), and the take-home Colon Cancer Screening kit ($20). Each site also offers a medical professional with whom you can discuss health-related questions. In 2011, a number of sites will offer the Vitamin D ($40) and Hemoglobin A1C ($25) screening. Hemoglobin AIC screenings are a standard tool that determines blood sugar. Results are mailed directly to your home for you to share with your doctor or volunteer doctors and nurses call within 72 hours of your tests if a critical issue is discovered. No social security number or personal ID is required. To find a location nearest you, pre-register or to get more information check out their website or call 800-332-3078.
